Due to recent rains, and poor field conditions, the county has cancelled all outdoor activities for this evening, including our games.
I have not yet received information on make-up games from the week 1 cancellation, so when I get that information (and this week's make-ups) I will post it here and send out via email.
Next game is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12th at 6:30pm at Lovettsville vs. Faith Chapel. See the Schedule for details.
Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. Due to the heavy rain yesterday, and field conditions, the field for today's games is closed.

Due to the weather, I'm cancelling today's practice. We'll meet at Lucketts Park on Friday, April 17th at 5:30pm for our next practice. Directions are available at the Directions link above.

We have our first practices scheduled for this week. Two practices will be held, both at Lucketts Park (the field is the first right turn as you come into Lucketts from Leesburg, and it's just before the school on the right):
Don't worry if you can't make it right at 5:30, just get there as soon as you can ready to practice.
And our first game will be April 21st, at 6:30pm versus Bethel UMC, also at Lucketts Park. As a reminder, all games are double-headers, so we'll have a second game at 7:30pm. The full schedule may be found on the Schedule page.
Also, while we have a pretty full roster, due to church league rules we are allowed to have as many folks on the roster as we'd like. While we want to make sure to get folks as much playing time as possible, we could probably squeeze in one or two more players. If you're interested, drop us a note. But don't wait, as we only have a very short window in which to make roster changes.

Of course, I'll have more info about the upcoming Spring season before you know it!
Still awaiting word from Loudoun County regarding the Fall season.
They sent out an email extending the registration deadline to August 11th, so it may be that they're hoping to get more teams signed up.

Wow!!!
What an amazing turnout for the St. John's softball team this weekend. We had 24 new players express interest in joining the team. That's the good news.
The bad news is that we have only 25 slots available for this season. So I'm going to give some thought to the most fair way to get folks on the roster, but be aware that some folks may have to wait until next Spring (the Spring season we'll be back in a regular Church league, where the roster size is not limited).
I will be calling the folks who signed up sometime this week to discuss next steps. I want to thank everyone who came out, and I look forward to a great season of softball.
